At Alta Therapy, we understand the unique challenges and exhilaration that come with participating in extreme sports. We recognize that these activities push your physical and mental boundaries, and that’s why we’re here to support you on your journey to well-being, healing, and personal growth.
The inception of Alta Psychotherapy began in 2016 and our doors opened to athletes in 2021. To truly support such a unique community, Alta Therapy spent its first years considering the integration of traditional therapeutic modalities to address specific challenges and realities for people involved in extreme sports.
Today, every single member of our staff, including our clinicians, is either an extreme sports enthusiast or thoroughly trained to empathize with the community. As athletes ourselves, we understand the deep connection between extreme sports and personal identity. We are an evidence-based, board-certified clinical practice designed to do two things: use psychotherapy to offer mental health support and sports psychology to enhance performance in extreme sports.
This is a strictly confidential and safe space for anyone looking to obtain mental health or sports performance support within the extreme sports community.
We currently conduct psychotherapy in New York, Florida, Colorado, and Utah, but are mobile nationwide for group and organizational sports psychology coaching. Our clients are passionate about exocentric/adventure-based sports involving Earth, Sky, Sea, and Motor related activities, in addition to competitive fight sports and performative movement art. Alta Therapy meets the needs of students, instructors, coaches, competitors, their loved ones, and the needs of sport operations and teams.
